CPBL Season Set to Kickoff July 3rd

This weekend marks the return of CPBL regular season play as on Saturday, July 3rd, players within the league will suit up to take the field once again.

Unlike prior Opening Days, this season is the first in which the league features eleven organizations. It’s a big step for the CPBL and a special occasion for the first expansion class, which features the Ontario Royals, Windsor Selects, Titans Baseball Club, Terriers Baseball and Watson Elite.

For John Picco, the General Manager of the Selects, he looks forward to his club’s first weekend in the CPBL. “Joining a high caliber league such as the CPBL is a great opportunity for Windsor baseball and the players of the Windsor Selects. To be able to compete against the best teams & players in the province is what we wanted here in Windsor.”

Vice President of the CPBL, Ryan McBride, stated, “The wait to begin the season has been painful for everyone, but especially for the players. There are so many talented players in our league and we are all very excited to get things started.”

With this monumental season set to start Saturday, the arrival of CPBL game action will be well worth the wait.
